Aliya Fargatovna Mustafina is a Russian gymnast born on September 30, 1994 in Yegoryevsk. Mustafina was the 2010 World All-Around champion. In April 2011, Mustafina suffered a knee injury at the European championships that required surgery and forced her to miss the 2011 World Championships. At the 2012 Summer Olympics, Mustafina won a silver medal in the team competition and edged out American Alexandra Raisman for the bronze medal after a tie breaker in the all-around competition. During the uneven bars final, Mustafina won the gold medal.
